Spring Tea Party Ideas

If you are new to tea parties or just wonder about my tea party ideas you are in the right place! Tea parties are so much fun and my amazing mom has taught me everything I know! Your first step is to gather all of your supplies and go from there.  I like to use baskets to help me. Below I have gathered my tea cups, jadeite, drop cloth napkins and tea pots in my white basket tray. This is my inspiration tray. From this point I start to build my table! Do you notice my color scheme?!

Shopping Ideas

World Market is one of my favorite places to shop for tea party essentials. This is what I usually pick up: clotted cream, scone mix, Paris Tea by Harney & Sons (my all time favorite), mini jam and tea spoons.I always start at World Market for my tea party supplies.

Clotted cream is always a good idea for any tea party!

Simple Spring Flower & Vases Ideas

Flowers are a must at Spring tea parties! I picked up these flowers in the discount bins at the super market and added them to a variety of vases on the table. You could also grab some flowers from your garden too. I love that this is an easy way to add affordable beauty to your table!  A good idea is to have all of the vases tie together somehow. All of mine were different sizes but they are all clear glass!  The juice jar below was too cute to throw away!Idea: Bargain flowers and recycled glass juice bottles make the perfect vases for a tea party.

Of course the mini tea cup topiaries had to make an appearance on the table as well!Flowers and tea cup topiaries are a must for spring tea parties!

Scones and Sweets and Tea

Our tea parties always include scones. Have you seen my coffee butterscotch scones recipe? It is so yummy. I didn’t have all of the ingredients this time so instead I tried World Market’s lemon poppy-seed scone mix and it was simple and tasty too! I definitely recommend it. We also had mini cupcakes and cookies. All of these taste delicious with a good cup of tea!Lemon poppy-seed scones are always a good idea for Spring tea parties!

Did you notice how cute the jelly jars are? Come see how I upcycled them for our porch last summer!

Jam, clotted cream, scones and tea are a favorite Spring treat!

Decorating Ideas

Of course I love decorating so setting the table for a tea party is so much fun for me. My mom always says the more opulent the better! In my mind that means filling the table as much as possible. The best way to do this is with height and down the center. I used cake stands and vases and flowers to add height. Also, don’t be afraid to mix colors and patterns. My jadeite tea cups and stands look pretty with my blue and white tea cups and Polish Pottery tea pot. All the color makes me so happy!Mixing colors and pattenrs makes for a fun Spring tea party!

For linens I used drop cloth napkins I made and a chenille bedspread for the tablecloth. Both can be thrown in the wash in case you happen to spill some tea or jelly. 😉A pretty and colorful Spring tea party!
