Easy Frozen Mojito Recipe
Aloha, my friends! Today is a rare day here on the blog because I am sharing a recipe! I am thrilled to share with you a delicious cocktail that will transport you straight to the tropical paradise of Hawaii. Join me as I share how easy it is to create a refreshing frozen mojito, the perfect way to beat the summer heat and indulge in a taste of the tropics.
Easy Frozen Mojito Recipe
The frozen mojito is not new but it is new to me! If you love mojitos normally, you will fall in love with frozen ones.
Our family recently went on a trip to Hawaii and one of my favorite things to sip on while at the pool is normally a lava flow. However, on this trip my husband Mike ordered a frozen mojito. Of course I had to try it and let me tell you I know have a new favorite tropical cocktail!
So when we came home I asked Mike if he could recreate the mojito recipe but make it blended, he took the challenge seriously. And I am here to tell you it turned out SO good!
Frozen Mojito Ingredients
The traditional mojito receta is usually made with white rum, lime juice, sugar, soda water and of course mint. To create the perfect frozen mojito you will leave out the soda water and substitute it with frozen limeade. You will need the following ingredients:
- 8 shots of white rum
- 8-10 fresh mint leaves (add to liking)
- entire can of frozen limeade concentrate
- simple syrup (just a splash)
- 1 cup of ice cubes
- 1/2 cup of frozen pineapple chunks (optional, for a tropical twist)
- Lime slices and mint sprigs for garnish
Instructions on How to Make a Frozen Mojito
Step 1: Collect the Mint
Gather your fresh mint and pull the leaves from the stems. You can buy fresh mint in the store or use it from your herb garden.
Step 2: Blend the Ingredients
In a blender, combine the white rum, frozen limeade, mint leaves ( yes blend them in) a bit more ice, and simple syrup. Blend the mixture on high speed until everything is well combined and smooth. If you prefer a slushier consistency, you can add more ice cubes as desired.
Step 3: Serve and Garnish
Pour the frozen mojito into your desired glasses. If you want to add a touch of fun, top off each glass with a splash of club soda. Garnish with fresh lime slices and mint sprigs to enhance the presentation and add a burst of fragrance.
Step 4: Enjoy!
Now, take a moment to bask in the tropical yumminess you’ve created. Sip on your frozen mojito and let the flavors of rum, mint and lime transport you to the sandy beaches of Hawaii. Feel the cool, refreshing minty citrusy goodness of every sip. Cheers to the taste of the tropics!
Additional Tips:
- For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the white rum and increase the amount of club soda or use a non-alcoholic rum substitute, coconut milk or limeade.
- Feel free to adjust the sweetness or mint flavor to your liking by adding more or less mint or limeade.
- Experiment with different fruits like strawberries or mangoes for unique and delightful flavor variations.
- Test for Taste – One of the joys of creating this beverage is the ability to customize it according to your preferences. Take a small sip with a spoon and adjust the flavors as desired, adding more lime juice or other ingredients if necessary.
- Abundant Mint – Be generous with the mint! Use a generous amount for both preparing the drink and garnishing it.
- Preparation Options – There are two methods for preparing this drink. First, you can gather all the ingredients in a blender (excluding the ice), and when you’re ready to blend, simply add the ice and proceed. Alternatively, you can blend the mixture and then freeze it for approximately 30 minutes. It’s not recommended to freeze it for longer than 30 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions about Frozen Mojitos
- Can I use a different type of rum in my frozen mojito? Absolutely! While white rum is the traditional choice for a mojito, you can experiment with different rum varieties to suit your taste. Dark rum can add a richer, more robust flavor, while flavored rums like coconut or mango can provide a delightful twist. Mike has found some great flavored rums we enjoy! Feel free to explore and find your favorite combination!
- Can I make a large batch of frozen mojitos for a party? Certainly! Scaling up the recipe for a crowd is easy. Simply multiply the ingredients by the number of servings you need. It’s best to blend each batch separately to ensure a consistent texture. Keep the blended mixture in the freezer until ready to serve. When it’s time to enjoy, give it a quick blend or stir to fluff up the texture.
- Can I make a non-alcoholic version of the frozen mojito? Certainly! To make a non-alcoholic frozen mojito, omit the white rum from the recipe. Instead, you can use coconut milk or use a non-alcoholic rum substitute, which can be found in some specialty stores. Adjust the sweetness and flavors to your preference, and you’ll still have a refreshing and tasty mocktail.
- Can I make a frozen mojito without a blender? If you don’t have a blender, don’t worry! You can still enjoy a frozen mojito. Instead of blending the ingredients, you can muddle the mint leaves with the sugar in the bottom of a glass to release the flavors. Then, add the lime juice, rum, and crushed ice. Stir vigorously until well combined and chilled. It may not have the same slushy texture, but it will still taste delightful.
- Can I customize my frozen mojito with other fruits? Absolutely! While the classic combination of lime and mint is beloved, you can certainly experiment with other fruits to add a unique twist to your frozen mojito. Try adding strawberries, mangoes, or even watermelon for a burst of fruity goodness. Blend the additional fruits along with the other ingredients to create a delightful flavor variation.
- Can I substitute the limeade with another sweetener? Certainly! If you prefer you can use sugar or a sweetener, such as honey, agave syrup, or a sugar substitute, feel free to do so. Keep in mind that the sweetness level may vary, so adjust the amount to suit your taste. Just make sure to add fresh squeezed lime too!
With these answers to commonly asked questions, you’ll be well-prepared to create a delectable frozen mojito that suits your preferences. Feel free to experiment and make it your own tropical masterpiece. Cheers and enjoy the refreshing taste of your homemade frozen mojito!
