What We Packed for Our Trip to London and Paris

We recently returned from a 10 day trip where we visited London and Paris. It was the trip of a lifetime and one we will never forget! We went for my mom’s 70th birthday. It was her dream and she gets all the credit (my dad too) for creating our itinerary and making this trip happen. Today’s post will be the details of what we packed and what we recommend. This is part 1. Next up I will share our itineraries from both London and Paris!

Packing for Our Trip

My parents have traveled to Europe a few different times over the years and they recommended that each of us pack for our whole trip in one carry on suitcase.

At first my family was like, what? But then I explained that we would be taking trains and that hauling large pieces of luggage would be miserable.

Rolling suitcases towards Eurostar
Mike and the girls walking to the Eurostar on our way to Paris via London!

That made sense so we made sure to have nice rolling suitcases that fit the airline’s size requirements. Don’t forget to check this because they can be strict.

We flew British Airlines (which was fabulous by the way way) and they were not strict on the way out but were on the way home. We also each had a personal item like a backpack!

What We Packed

Below is a collage of everything I bought for our trip. I’ll go in to details below!

  • Neck Pillow– I wish I would have bought a few more of these because Crosby ended up taking mine and we had to buy one for Grace at the airport. I would have liked one too but it’s ok. All in all this one was great when I tried it for myself. Perfect for a 9 hour flight!
  • Portable Charger– I have been searching for a portable charger that would hold its charge. We brought two of these and they helped their charge all day. We would charge them each night.
  • Rain Jacket- Mike actually got me a Vuori long one as a gift and it came in very handy on our trip. Sadly I could not find it online. I also got this one for Grace (my sister had the same one) and this child sized one for Crosby. It rained off and on during our trip and these were awesome!
  • Toiletry Bag– I have had this Bagsmart toiletry bag for several years now. I love that it can hang and has many pockets and storage options.
  • Universal Adapter– these adapters worked for us in both London and Paris and they were amazing. Since there were for of us in our room we needed plugs for our phones and chargers. This adapter had plug in options for ALL types of cords!
  • Silicone Travel Bottles for Liquids– The girls and I used these for our toiletry liquids and they worked well.
  • Ultima Drink Mix– So I bought this and we didn’t even use it! We love Ultima at home and I figured these little packets would be awesome for traveling and I forgot to pull them out. But they are great for replenishing electrolytes!
  • Body Glide and Foot Glide– this anti-chafing stick is my new best friend! I used (and still use the body glide) before I go on walks here at home. We walked a lot in Europe and I am so thankful I had this. I grabbed the Foot Glide too but we never used it.
  • Bar Shampoo/Conditioner– We loved this which really surprised us! It was great for travel, no liquid and smells amazing! Highly recommend!
  • Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen– This is the face sunscreen I use and love! Perfect travel size too.
  • Foldable Travel Duffel Bag– This set of 4 foldable bags saved us on the way home. We stuffed them full of our dirty clothes and put our souvenirs in our suitcases. We checked our suitcases and carried these on! So grateful to my mom for suggesting this!
  • Sunglasses– These trendy sunglasses were picked out by my teenage daughter and she loves them. They are affordable and cute!
  • Blister Pack– We only had to use these guys once but glad we had them with us!
  • Crossbody Sling Bag– My mom and sister had these crossbody bags and I wished I had gotten one too. They were the perfect size, comfy and stylish. My mom tried several before she landed on tis one!
  • Phone tether– we gave my mom a hard time about buying this but it served it’s purpose and her phone was safe!
  • Samsonite Luggage-We do not personally own this luggage but it is a top seller!

Clothes and Shoes

We had a lot of fun packing for this trip! We found great affordable linen options at H&M for all of us. Have you seen their kids section lately? Affordable and trendy! I actually found my jean jacket in the kids area. I wore it with almost every outfit.

We also found some fun pieces from Athleta and Lulu Lemon with of course a mix of Amazon.

  • Mike got me these pants and these too. (I’m short so don’t forget they have free alterations!)
  • I used this belt bag and Mike used this Nike one to carry all of our stuff and they were great for keeping close to our body!
My mom carried this bag everywhere and Grace loved this skirt!

We are HUGE fans of On Cloud shoes. Both Mike and I have them and they are so comfortable.

We went with comfy mix and match clothes and I am so glad we brought a variety because the weather was cooler than we thought!
