Top 10 Posts of 2024: A Look Back
Well, 2025 has arrived, and I’m finally finding a moment to look back! This is my third year of full-time blogging, and I’m still incredibly grateful to have transitioned from one fulfilling career (teaching kindergarten) into another.
I get asked all the time if I’m happy with my decision, and my answer is always a resounding YES! God has been so faithful, and I’m having an absolute blast!
I do one of these posts every year and if you want to look at the past 7 years top posts then here they are: my, Top 10 of 2017, Top 10 of 2018 and Top 10 of 2019 and Top 10 of 2020 and Top 10 of 2021 , Top 10 of 2022 and Top 10 2023. Honestly I can’t believe I have been blogging for almost 8 years now (3 of those full time)!
Proud Moments from 2024
- E-Book- I wrote, published and sold my very first e-book all about how to grow zinnias and wow what an adventure that was! Stay tuned for more e-books!
- Wedding- Our oldest got married to his amazing fiancé Katy, and we could not be more thrilled! The wedding was in May with a small reception in our backyard and then there was a party in October to celebrate again. We are over the moon excited for them and I am loving having a daughter in-law!
- New Logo- last January I started a new “brand” and Instagram page that grew to over 200k followers & morphed into a new logo here on the blog! I am fully embracing The Lazy Girl’s Garden Club and still leaning on my roots of The Tattered Pew. Be on the look out for a new look to the blog too!
- After joining Bible Study Fellowship two years ago and loving my groups this year I became a leader and I am also loving it. It has been an amazing way for me to learn more about the Bible and grow in my relationship with Jesus. Plus, my mom is a leader so that means I get to see her every Wednesday.
- Travels- We went to London and Paris for my mom’s 70th birthday this past summer and it was INCREDIBLE! I checked off a bucket list item of mine by visiting Monet’s Garden!
- ETSY- I opened up an ETSY shop after several of you asked for some Lazy Girl Garden Club merch. This was never on my radar but I am so glad I did it because it is always so rewarding when you all tag me with your shirts or mugs or any other items!
- Our kids- Crosby made the company dance team at her studio & we went to NYC, Grace made Varsity for her high school basketball team, and Hudson graduated from college (YAY!) & Easton got his dream job at Colorado State. Mike and I are in heaven getting to have all four (well 5 now!) kids close. We celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary and I honestly love him more and more each day! To say we are blessed would be an understatement.
Looking Ahead to 2025
To be honest I am really looking forward to 2025. Both here on the blog and over on Instagram. Also, I have some big plans in our home and garden! I just turned 45 and have decided to take back my health, get back in shape and eat healthier. I bought a mini treadmill so I am dedicated. 🤭

Hi Kelly, I am a fairly new follower to your blog and looking forward to following you into 2025. Because of you, I will be planting Zinnias in pots this year and can hardly wait to get started. I also like your decorating style. So Happy New Year to you and your family and looking forward to 2025.

Believe I’ve been following along these past two years…enjoyed reading up on you growing zinnias in pots and noticed you put about four seed packets into the pot which I’m going to try this spring. I usually grow them in my greenhouse then once ready to plant outside I transplant them into pots but want to try planting them directly in the pot this year…Happy New Year!
