Easy Summer Porch Ideas
Our front porch is one of my favorite spots in our home. Each spring and summer I look forward to sprucing it up and decorating it. If you are looking for some outdoor inspiration and some easy summer porch ideas then this post is for you!
Today I am joining the Spring into Summer, Porches, Patios & Outdoor Spaces Blog Hop hosted by the lovely Amber from Follow the Yellow Brick Home. If you are coming from Lora B. from Create & Ponder, welcome! Isn’t her vintage bicycle garden art so creative?
Easy Summer Porch Ideas
Whether you have a large or small porch decorating it for summer can really be quite easy! Below I am sharing some of my ideas.
Pick Your Colors
Deciding on the colors for your porch is an easy step to start with. For me I pick one fun item that I want my porch to revolve around. This year it is this darling green and white seed & supply sign from Cozy Cottage. This sign gave me so many ideas! From here I gathered other green, white, wood and black accessories. You can see last year’s porch HERE and how I used very different colors!
Shop Your Home
One easy ideas is to always shop your home first. I do this because I like to decorate my porch on a budget. In my garage I found these old green gardening tools and an old long planter to pull out more green. The old picnic basket, pew and oval basket bring in the natural wood tones while the white viburnum flowers pop the white nicely! My favorite buffalo check pillows from Hobby Lobby along with the black wrought iron chair add small touches of black. This color scheme coordinates with nature and the accessories! Easy porch ideas!
Use Live and Faux Plants
Our Viburnum snow ball bush has taken over our entry and I love it! Since there are so many snowballs I cut some for the porch and some to enjoy inside as well. I also brought out the lavender topiary my mom found for me at Costco and plopped her in an old bucket. I like the height she adds. The white geranium on the left of the pew is faux and from JOANN. I kept it simple and clutter free thus making it easy to decorate.
Choose Items You Love
When you decorate the ideas are endless so I think it’s important to include items you absolutely love. If you love bright colors use them! Or if hanging baskets make you happy use those. The most important step for easy summer porch ideas is do what makes you happy. For me happiness is my pew front and center and giant white snowball flowers everywhere! They signal summer for me and I wish they lasted longer!
I hope you found some easy summer porch ideas that you can use for your own porch. Just remember to have fun and make it a space that you can enjoy all summer long! Next up on the blog hop is Michelle from Thistle Key Lane. I know you will enjoy her summer ready patio and garden tour! Check out the links below for even more outdoor ideas and inspiration.
