Simple and Pretty Christmas Wrapping Ideas
I don’t know about you but I am under the assumption that there are two types of people in this world. People who like wrapping gifts and people who do not like wrapping gifts. Sadly, I fall into the second group. I honestly don’t like to wrap presents. I just find it so boring and somehow I always get stuck doing it. So each Christmas I try to make it a bit more fun for myself since I am the one in my family wrapping all the presents. Today I am sharing some of my simple and pretty Christmas wrapping ideas that I hope will inspire you ( and not bore you) when it comes time to wrap your own gifts this Christmas.
Also, at the end of my post you can find several other blog friends sharing their wrapping ideas. There are so many cool ideas you won’t want to miss and so many ideas that even get me excited to do some wrapping! 🙂
Simple and Pretty Christmas Wrapping Ideas
When it comes to wrapping Christmas gifts I’m not going to lie, I like them to look pretty! (You can see last year’s here) So each year I use a few simple tricks that help keep things pretty and keep me engaged. First, I always coordinate the paper color and the ribbon with the theme of my decor and tree. This year I had fun with red, white and small touches of blue!
The Wrapping Paper
It all starts with the wrapping paper. This year for my paper I picked out plain white wrapping paper at Hobby Lobby in the birthday aisle, not the Christmas wrapping aisle. I have found that the non-holiday wrapping paper is thicker and a much better quality! The darling red and white Dear Santa paper I scored at Homegoods.
The Ribbon
When it comes to wrapping Christmas gifts quality ribbon is a must! Just like my wrapping paper tip, I like to look for my ribbon in the normal ribbon aisle and not in the Christmas ribbon aisle. The red and white ribbon I used this year is all from Hobby Lobby and the plaid ribbon is from Homegoods. Both stores might know me by name! Just kidding! 😉 The best part is that it was all on sale at both places! I always like to make sure I find ribbon in the same color scheme but with a variety of patterns. Also, ribbon with wire is always a good thing! Did you notice the plaid ribbon on my tree as well?
The Gift Tags
The icing on the cake when it comes to simple and pretty Christmas wrapping ideas is always the gift tags! I used my simple and classic black and white Christmas tree tags with a small red star. ( I also used them for hot cocoa gift tags too!) See how I used them here! They add that thoughtful and custom touch that friends and family notice.
Aren’t they so cute? You can download them for free here! If you are already a subscriber you can access them in my printables library using the password found at the bottom of my emails. Just print them out at home for that perfect finishing touch!
