Springtime in the Kitchen

Our Springtime Kitchen

 Springtime in Colorado and Me

Welcome! Come on in and take a peek at our kitchen all dressed up for Spring! If you are visiting here for the first time, my name is Kelly and I live in beautiful Colorado. I’m a wife, mom, step-mom and kindergarten teacher. I pride myself on being able to update and upgrade our builder grade house into a Pinterest worthy home all in my spare time and on a tight budget! But honestly, I’m just a hot mess mama who needs Jesus and coffee every morning! Can you relate?

The Island

I will let the pictures do most of the talking but our island is the hub of our home. My husband and I designed it a few years ago when we did a mini kitchen remodel. I love that it has a modern shiplap look and hidden storage.

The pendants are from IKEA and I recently painted them white with Rustoleum chalk paint in Linen. I love how they add the cottage feel I crave. It was a cheap and simple DIY that instantly brightened up our kitchen. A fun little makeover that didn’t break the bank! Can I get an AMEN?!

My little princess!

I saved my dried hydrangeas from last summer and filled my vintage dough bowl full of them! Don’t they still look amazing? If you are curious about the tricks I use for drying them you can click HERE!

The Table

Our kitchen table was a freebie from a friend who was moving! It has so much character and comes in a close second in favorite pieces of furniture to my pews. Here I have it styled for an Easter brunch. My mom spotted these bunny plates at Home Goods for me and just like we thought, they pair perfectly with my growing jadeite collection.

If you visited my last year’s spring tour you may have noticed that these chairs look a little different! They are now white! They were originally outdoor metal chairs and this last week I painted them with the same paint as the pendants over our island, Rustoleum chalk paint in Linen.

If you follow me over on Instagram you were able to see the before and afters in my stories. (I post a lot more over on IG in case that’s your jam) You also might know that the joke around our house is that mom likes to paint everything white! Ha! I must say it’s true and they know me well. 🙂

When I went to the grocery store to look for flowers they had zero tulips. I was a bit disappointed but figured this babies breath was a lovely substitute for only $4! It will hold me over until my beloved peonies are back in season.

One thing you must know about me is that I am a flea market girl! I love the thrill of the hunt and finding a good deal and giving life to pieces from the past. On my last adventure I found this blue and white quilt for a steal! It has already been moved all over our house and I just love it!

The Mug Rack

The final stop on my Springtime kitchen tour is this little corner that showcases my mug rack! It holds my lovely collection of Rae Dunn mugs. It currently features my Easter mugs.

The darling bunny runner is from the Target dollar bins last year. If you have followed me for awhile now you may remember I featured it last Spring on my Easter table along with my favorite Easter tradition.
